Any humble spud can be your gateway to glory. Even that one at the back of your cupboard that is starting to get those funny little sprouts, and looks a little like an expensive rare breed small dog. Cut off the sprouts. Put it in the oven. Potato Time™ .
Debate rages on at the various benefits and boons of sweet potatoes versus your more common and garden white potato. Despite the imagery on this site, the rumours are true that Potato Time™ was originally devised with a sweet potato in mind, roasted in the skin, and then served up with lashings of sour cream, freshly cracked black pepper, and a sense of accomplishment.
However, for an equally delicious outcome, a white Vivaldi spud is second to none on the crowded potato playing field. The skin crisps to a shatter-point, and the flesh has a rich, near truffled flavour.
Whichever potato you pick, we recommend massaging it liberally with olive oil and salt, before popping it the oven at around 200 degrees (fan). In that magical hour where the potato bakes, the brain is more susceptible to genius, and anything that you write or create is much more likely to be an instant best-seller, or at least critically acclaimed.
The use of an air fryer is only acceptable when writing flash fiction.
